Controller

PRAGRE OG, Dornlandweg 11, 4040 Linz, Austria

Email office@pragre.com, phone +43 676 7750821

We are not required to appoint a data protection officer. For any question about your data, write to the address above.

Summary

  • The VHF Watch app sends us nothing. Recordings, transcripts and settings stay on your recorder and your own devices.
  • This website keeps short-lived server logs, uses Google Analytics only if you agree, and sends you to Stripe when you buy.
  • If you join the pre-order list, we keep your email address with Brevo until you unsubscribe, and email you about the launch and your discount.
  • When you order, we keep your order data for seven years because Austrian tax law requires it.

Website

Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. Vercel processes data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so transfers to the USA rely on the European Commission's adequacy decision.

Server logs

When you visit a page, the hosting provider automatically records technical data: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, your browser and operating system, and the response status. This is needed to deliver the site and to keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in a working, secure website). The logs are kept for at most 30 days and are not combined with other data.

The consent cookie

The cookie vw_consent remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we do not ask on every page. It holds no identifier. Legal basis: § 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act (TKG 2021), as strictly necessary, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Details are in the cookie policy.

Google Analytics 4 (only with your consent)

If you accept analytics in the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID ), provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they arrived. We have turned off Google signals and advertising features, and IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4.

  • Data: pseudonymous identifiers in the _ga cookies, pages viewed, approximate location (country, region), device and browser type, referring website.
  • Legal basis: your consent (§ 165(3) TKG 2021, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time under Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; we then delete the _ga cookies.
  • Data may be processed by Google LLC in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
  • Retention in Google Analytics: 14 months.

Without your consent, the Google Analytics script is not loaded.

No other external resources

Fonts, pictures and scripts are served from our own website. There are no social media plugins, embedded videos or advertising.

Buying a recorder

What we process

When you order, we process your name, email address, delivery address, phone number if you give one, the product and quantity, the shipping region, the amount paid and the order and payment status.

Legal basis: to fulfil the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and to meet our legal duties in tax and commercial law (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).

Payment by Stripe

Payment runs on a payment page operated by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, D02 H210, Ireland. Stripe receives your contact and delivery details, your payment details (for example card number and expiry date) and technical data about your device for fraud prevention. We never see your full card details. We receive from Stripe your contact and delivery details, the order, and whether and how payment was made (for example card type and the last four digits).

Stripe processes payment data partly as our processor and partly as an independent controller, for example to prevent fraud and to meet financial regulation. Data may also be processed by Stripe, Inc. in the USA, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Shipping

We pass your name and delivery address, and your email or phone number if the carrier needs it to announce delivery, to the carrier that delivers your parcel. For deliveries outside the EU, the customs declaration includes your name, address and the contents and value of the parcel.

How long we keep order data

We keep invoices, order records and payment records for seven years from the end of the calendar year in which the order was made, as § 132 of the Austrian Federal Fiscal Code (BAO) requires, and longer only if they are needed for a pending warranty claim, tax audit or legal dispute. Then we delete them.

Emails about your order

We use your email address to confirm your order, to tell you about shipping and about changes to the delivery date of a pre-order, and to handle returns and warranty claims. We do not send you anything else unless you join the pre-order list separately.

Pre-order list

If you join the pre-order list on our website, we process your email address, the time you signed up and the time you confirmed, so that we can email you when the recorder goes on sale, send your discount code, and tell you if the expected date moves. We send nothing else to this list.

  • Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 174 TKG 2021). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to office@pragre.com. Withdrawal does not affect what happened before it.
  • Double opt-in: after you sign up, you receive an email with a confirmation link. You are only added to the list when you click it. We keep the record of your confirmation as proof of your consent.
  • Processor: the list is kept by Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France), which processes the data for us under a data processing agreement, on servers in the EU. Brevo may record whether an email was opened and which link was clicked; we use this only to see whether the launch email arrived.
  • How long: until you unsubscribe or we close the list after the launch offer ends. After you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a block list only so that we do not email you again, and the proof of consent for as long as it might be needed to show that we asked.

Contact by email or phone

If you write to us or call us, we use your details to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We keep the correspondence as long as needed to deal with your request, and for orders as long as the order records above.

The VHF Watch app

What the app stores

The app stores, on your own device only: recordings collected from your recorder, their transcripts and classifications, your boat's name and its spellings, and your settings. The recorder stores recordings on its own memory card. The recordings contain the voices of other people on the radio.

What the app sends

Nothing to us and nothing to anyone else. The app talks only to your recorder, over your local network. It has no account, no analytics, no crash reporting and no advertising. It does not use your microphone or your location. The speech engine is built into the app and runs on your device, so no audio or text leaves it.

Because we never receive this data, we are not the controller of it. You decide what is kept and for how long: the app lets you set a retention period, free up space and clear all data. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on that device.

Recording other people

Recording radio traffic you are not a party to, and passing it on, is restricted in some countries. Please check what applies where you sail, keep recordings only as long as you need them, and do not share them without a good reason.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. Write to office@pragre.com.

You can also complain to a supervisory authority. In Austria this is the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.

No automated decision-making

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and we do not profile you.

Changes

We update this policy when our website, shop or app changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
